African Nomad Safari was founded in 2017 by Dutch entrepreneur Robbin Meulemans and Tanzanian guide and entrepreneur Epimark Bernard. Offering specialized East African private tours, our English-speaking expert safari and travel guides provide unique travel experiences for memories that last a lifetime.
Our mission has been the same from day one: to provide travelers with the best experience of East Africa possible. This extends to every aspect of the safari travel experience. From bespoke travel itineraries that tick all the boxes, to the handpicked lodges and luxury tented camps included on African Nomad trips. In fact, we partner with over 100 hotels, lodges, and luxury tented camps across Tanzania and Kenya, all personally assessed by our on-site team of travel professionals.
Born from a passion for immersive, safe travel in East Africa, it took just one unforgettable private tour of the Serengeti for Robbin and his wife to fall in love with the magic of Africa. Identifying a gap in the market for high-quality, fully customizable private tour operations, Robbin teamed up with one of the region's best luxury safari guides: Epimark Bernard. The next few years saw African Nomad Safari attract thousands of clients around the world to Africa's lush lands. The company now boasts a dedicated, full-time staff of 30 in Europe and East Africa, split between Arusha, Nairobi, and our headquarters in the Netherlands.
African Nomad has been awarded the Travelife Partner level: a globally recognized certification for sustainable travel practices. While not yet fully certified, this milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting the environment, supporting local communities, and ensuring ethical travel experiences. From fair working conditions to minimizing our ecological footprint, every journey with us is designed with responsibility and impact in mind.
African Nomad has offices located in Europe and East Africa. Our European headquarters are located in the Netherlands, with our African operations headquarters based in Arusha, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya. Running a professional local operation while having our headquarters in Europe offers our clients absolute peace of mind when it comes to booking security, payments, and 24/7 on-the-ground support.
Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, when you book with African Nomad, you can book with total confidence. We are fully accredited and bonded under the Dutch SGR (ATOL equivalent in the UK), which secures all online payments. If you have any questions or would like to discuss booking options, get in touch with our team.
When it comes to bucket list travel, it's always better to deal with your operator directly. And when considering a completely bespoke safari vacation, dealing with trusted local experts is essential. At African Nomad, we pride ourselves on our dedication to customer service. Why? Because our mission is to make every visitor's experience in Africa as unforgettable as it can be.
Our website lets you browse popular trips and customizable options. Every itinerary is fully flexible: you decide how your journey looks, even down to what time your game drives start each day. Want to sleep in or spend all day out with a picnic lunch? No problem. Your vacation begins with what you want to experience, and we make it happen!
